Washing systems

Efficient cleaning of recyclable containers

Our washing systems provide efficient cleaning performance. They are designed for years of trouble-free operation with features and options that improve performance, ensure optimal hygiene, and lower energy consumption.

We help you specify the right washing solution and provide process advice that helps you save energy and lower your carbon footprint. For example, we can help you use the right kind, amount, and type of detergent, select the right nozzle pressure, or achieve good results at lower water temperatures.

In addition to the crate and bin washing systems below, we can provide customised IBC container washing systems. For more information, contact us.

Tunnel washers

Highly effective and energy-efficient cleaning of all plastic crate types

  • Line capacity up to 3,500 crates/hour
  • Extremely low water and energy consumption
  • High uptime and OEE
  • 2 or 4-side label removal

Brüel Systems tunnel washers provide high cleaning efficiency for foldable, bale arm, and rigid crates. With a line capacity up to 3,500 crates an hour, efficient 2 or 4-side label removal, and robust construction from stainless steel, our tunnel washers ensure high uptime and OEE (overall equipment effectiveness). They are service friendly and require little maintenance, lowering TCO and maintenance costs.

Tunnel washers are carefully designed to match each individual application and typically include a dissolving section, a washing section, and an after-rinse section. Crates are transported through each section on conveyors before proceeding to the next process step. Tunnel washers can be configured for a wide range of water temperatures, nozzle pressures, and detergent types, and the high-grade stainless steel facilitates cleaning procedures.

Designed for extremely low water consumption, our tunnel washers use unique screw filters to filter used washing water, allowing it to be recycled for the dissolving process. As a result, water consumption per crate is very low.

Brüel Systems recommends using spin dryers in container processing lines, as this is the most effective and energy-efficient drying method. However, tunnel washers can be fitted with blow dryer systems if needed.

Flume washers

Extremely effective immersion cleaning for rigid and bale arm crates

  • Line capacity up to 3,500 crates/hour
  • Extremely low water and energy consumption
  • High uptime and OEE
  • 2 or 4-side label removal

Brüel Systems flume washers provide extremely high washing efficiency for bale arm and rigid crates. They are frequently used in bakery, meat, and seafood processing applications. A flume washer can process 3,500 crates an hour, efficiently removing even difficult stains and debris by fully immersing crates in detergent water. With 2 or 4-side label removal, robust construction, and maintenance friendly design, our flume washers ensure high uptime and OEE (overall equipment effectiveness). They are service friendly and require little maintenance, lowering TCO and maintenance costs.

Flume washers are carefully designed to match each individual application and typically include a dissolving section, a washing section, and an after-rinse section. Crates are transported through each section, including full immersion, on conveyors before proceeding to the next process step. Flume washers can be configured for a wide range of water temperatures, nozzle pressures, and detergent types, and the high-grade stainless steel facilitates cleaning procedures.

Our flume washers use unique filtration systems capable of removing sludge and debris from the bottom of the immersion tank and the rinse sections, contributing to low water consumption, high uptime, and good washing results. Water consumption per crate is very low.

Brüel Systems recommends using spin dryers in container processing lines, as this is the most effective and energy-efficient drying method. However, flume washers can be fitted with blow dryer systems if needed.

CES washing machine

Cost-effective manually operated tunnel washer solution

  • Capacity up to 800 crates/hour
  • Optimal workplace ergonomics
  • Low water and energy consumption
  • High uptime and OEE

The Brüel Systems CES washing machine is a cost-effective tunnel washer solution designed for manual operation in applications without a fully automated cleaning system. Like our larger tunnel washer solutions, it cleans crates efficiently and automatically by transporting them through a dissolving section, a washing section, and an after-rinse section on a conveyor. After dissolving and flushing off impurities, the machine rinses the crates using first recycled rinse water and then fresh water from the mains, removing all chemical residues and ensuring that crates are completely clean.

The CES washing machine is a standalone solution and crates must be placed on the infeed conveyor manually. It is designed for optimal workplace ergonomics with operator-friendly conveyor height and all necessary safety interlock systems. If needed, it can be integrated in an automated processing line by adding automated indeed and outfeed systems and updating the PLC control.

The CES washing machine can be configured for a wide range of water temperatures, nozzle pressures, and detergent types, and the high-grade stainless steel facilitates cleaning procedures. Excess water from the after-rinse section is re-used for dissolving and washing as needed. The water is recirculated through a static filter which prevents the nozzles from clogging. These water-saving measures mean that on average, the machine uses only approx. 2 dl of fresh water per crate.

Pallet washers

Efficient automated tunnel washer for plastic pallets

  • Line capacity up to 1,200 pallets/hour
  • Highly configurable to various pallet sizes
  • Low water and energy consumption
  • High uptime and OEE

The Brüel Systems pallet washer is a tunnel washer solution for plastic pallets, enabling extensive reuse of pallets in logistics processes. Like our tunnel washer solutions for crates, it delivers efficient automatic cleaning by transporting pallets through a dissolving section, a washing section, and an after-rinse section on a conveyor. Pallets can be fed into the machine in vertical or horizontal position depending on requirements. Depending on pallet size and other factors, the capacity of the pallet washer can be 100 up to 1,500 pallets an hour.

Bin washing machine

Efficient and cost-effective standalone manual cleaning of plastic and steel bins

  • Capacity up to 30 bins/hour
  • User-friendly manual control
  • Integrated safety light grid
  • Easy washing programme selection

The Brüel Systems bin washing machine cleans bins, loading carts, and similar containers to a very high standard, contributing to uninterrupted processes and high levels of hygiene. With a built-in, user-friendly control system, it provides a standalone solution that can be operated by a single person and provides perfect washing results every time.

The operator rolls the soiled bin into the work area, pushing it onto the guide rails. The bin is automatically lifted into the washing cabinet, and the selected programme is executed. The duration of the process depends on the selected programme. When the programme is completed, the cleaned bin is returned to the work area and can be removed by the operator.

The bin washing machine is equipped with a safety light grid mounted on the front posts of the work area, protecting the operator and other persons from damage. The washing programmes in the control system have been pre-set from the factory and verified during the FAT. The operator can easily select washing programmes during daily operation.
